Why Andersen

The window brand Michigan homeowners ask for by name

Andersen has been building windows since 1903, and it's one of the most trusted and recommended window brands among homeowners, builders and contractors. Its lineup runs from an affordable composite window that outperforms vinyl to fully custom, architect-grade wood windows, so there's an Andersen for nearly every home and budget.

A great window only performs as well as its installation. The Window Depot is a veteran-owned company headquartered in Fenton, and we install every Andersen window to factory specifications so it seals, operates and lasts the way it was engineered to.

The Andersen Lineup

Which Andersen series is right for your home?

Five product lines, from budget-friendly to fully custom. Here's how they compare and where each one fits best.

Fibrex® Composite

✓

Stronger, more rigid frames than vinyl

✓

Popular in dark and black exterior colors

✓

Andersen quality at the most approachable price

Best for: replacing builder-grade vinyl in 1980s–2000s subdivisions, rentals and budget-conscious whole-home projects.

Wood · Vinyl-Clad

Andersen 200 Series

Real wood interiors at an uncommon value. A streamlined selection of the most popular window types and sizes keeps the price down.

✓

Warm wood interior you can paint or stain

✓

Weather-resistant vinyl-clad exterior

✓

Double-hung, gliding and picture windows in standard sizes

Best for: homeowners who want wood without a custom price, when standard sizes fit the openings.

Most Popular

Andersen 400 Series

Andersen's best-selling line and the one most Michigan homeowners end up choosing: classic wood craftsmanship inside, a tough low-maintenance clad exterior outside.

✓

The widest range of styles, including bay and bow

✓

Decades-proven reliability in cold climates

✓

Many interior finish, hardware and grille options

Best for: colonials and executive homes in Troy, Novi, Grand Blanc and Clarkston replacing original wood windows.

Architectural Collection

Andersen A-Series

The best-performing, most energy-efficient windows Andersen makes, designed around authentic architectural styles from Tudor to modern.

✓

Wood interior with a fiberglass and composite exterior

✓

Rich exterior colors and interior wood finishes

✓

Casements up to 8 feet tall for dramatic openings

Best for: Bloomfield Hills and West Bloomfield homes where the windows are part of the architecture.

Fully Custom

Andersen E-Series

Made to your exact specifications. Aluminum-clad wood windows with 50 standard exterior colors, custom shapes and sizes, and a wide choice of wood species.

Local Expertise

Andersen windows for Southeast and Mid-Michigan homes

Housing stock changes a lot between Genesee and Oakland County. Here's what we typically recommend, community by community.

Genesee County

Flint & Grand Blanc

Flint runs from century-old homes in Carriage Town and the College Cultural neighborhood to post-war brick ranches, while Grand Blanc's established subdivisions date mostly from the 1970s through the 1990s. Original windows in both are fogging, sticking and leaking heat.

We often recommend: 400 Series double-hungs to keep a traditional look, or the 100 Series for the best value on a whole-home project.

North Oakland County

Clarkston & Lake Orion

Historic homes in the Village of Clarkston, wooded lots across Independence Township, and cottages and year-round homes on Lake Orion. Lake and wooded lots mean big views and big exposure to wind and weather.

We often recommend: 400 Series or A-Series picture windows flanked by airtight casements, and E-Series when an older opening needs a custom size.

Bloomfield Area

Bloomfield Hills & West Bloomfield

Bloomfield Hills estates are built with custom architecture, and many still have beautiful but drafty original wood windows. West Bloomfield's lakefront homes call for windows that combine views, efficiency and style.

We often recommend: A-Series for architectural authenticity and top energy performance, or E-Series for custom wood species, colors and shapes.

South Oakland County

Troy & Novi

Troy's large colonials and executive homes and Novi's 1980s to 2000s subdivisions are reaching the age when builder-grade windows fail: fogged glass, rotting sills and sashes that no longer seal.

We often recommend: the 400 Series with black or wood-finish interiors, or 100 Series casements and picture windows for a clean, modern look.

We also install Andersen windows in Fenton, Holly, Davison, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Ann Arbor and communities within about 100 miles of our Fenton headquarters. See all service areas.

Window Styles

Every Andersen style, measured and installed by one team

Andersen builds every common window style, plus sliding and hinged patio doors. Mix styles across the house and we'll keep the sightlines, finishes and hardware consistent.

The Window Depot Difference

A premium window deserves a premium installation

The same Andersen window can perform beautifully or poorly depending on who installs it. Here's how we do it.

01

Full-frame specialists

When an opening needs more than an insert, we replace the whole frame, so problems are fixed instead of hidden.

02

Certified installers

Our installers are certified by Installation Masters, a program built around accurate, energy-efficient window installation.

03

We check the structure first

With 25+ years in construction, we evaluate your home before the old windows come out and arrive ready to repair rotted wood.

04

No commission, no pressure

Our reps aren't paid on commission. You get straight pricing and an honest recommendation on which series fits.

Call (810) 750-0055

Which Andersen series is best for Michigan winters?

All five series are available with Low-E glass and gas fills suited to our climate. The A-Series is Andersen's most energy-efficient line, and the 400 Series has decades of proven performance in cold-weather states. Just as important is the installation: a properly insulated, air-sealed and flashed opening is what stops drafts.

What's the difference between the Andersen 100 Series and 400 Series?

The 100 Series is made of Fibrex composite inside and out. It's low-maintenance, stronger than vinyl and the most affordable Andersen line. The 400 Series has a real wood interior you can stain or paint, a clad exterior, and far more style and option choices, including bay and bow windows. Many homeowners use the 400 Series in main living areas and the 100 Series elsewhere.

How much do Andersen replacement windows cost?

It depends on the series, size, style, glass and whether the opening needs full-frame replacement. Installed Andersen windows in Southeast Michigan typically run about $[X] to $[Y] per window, with the 100 Series at the lower end and custom A-Series and E-Series units at the higher end. You'll get an exact, itemized price after a free in-home measurement. Financing is available.

Is The Window Depot the same as Renewal by Andersen?

No. Renewal by Andersen is Andersen's separate replacement division, which sells its own window line through its own dealers. The Window Depot is an independent, veteran-owned Michigan company. We install Andersen's 100, 200, 400, A-Series and E-Series lines, and because we also carry Marvin, Pella, Jeld-Wen and Ply Gem, we can recommend whatever fits your home best.

Do you install Andersen windows near me?

We serve communities within roughly 100 miles of our Fenton headquarters, including Flint, Grand Blanc, Clarkston, Lake Orion, Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Troy and Novi. See our full service area or call to confirm your address.
