About Storm Doors

An extra layer of protection for your front door

A storm door shields your entry door from rain, snow and road salt, adds an insulating buffer in winter, and lets fresh air in through a screen when the weather turns warm. It's an affordable way to extend the life of a wood or older entry door, and a practical upgrade for busy side and back entries too.

Choose a full-view glass door with an interchangeable screen, a ventilating style with a sliding glass panel, or a retractable screen that disappears when you don't need it. We measure carefully and install every storm door plumb and tight, with the closer and latch adjusted so it shuts gently every time. Pair it with a new front entry door for a complete upgrade.

How much does storm door installation cost in Michigan?

Storm doors are one of the most affordable door upgrades. Pricing depends on style, size, color, glass and hardware. Most storm door installations in Southeast Michigan run roughly $[X] to $[Y]. You'll get an exact price after a free in-home measurement.

Do I need a storm door if I have a new entry door?

Not necessarily. Modern fiberglass and steel entry doors are well insulated on their own. A storm door is most valuable for protecting wood doors, adding ventilation, or shielding an entry that takes a lot of weather.

Can a storm door damage my entry door?

On entries that get strong direct sun, a storm door with a lot of glass can trap heat against the entry door, and some manufacturers limit warranty coverage in that situation. We'll look at your door's exposure and recommend a style, or a ventilating option, that won't cause problems.

How long does storm door installation take?

Most storm door installations take just a few hours. If we're also replacing the entry door, we'll install both on the same visit.

Can you install a storm door on any entry?

Most standard entries can take a storm door, but the frame and trim need to be square and in good shape for a clean fit. We'll check your opening during the free consultation.
